ABOUT ME

I received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Alexandria University in 2001, the MS Degree in fiber optics from the same university in 2007, and I received Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Bridgeport in 2012. From 2002 to 2008, I was with Electrical Engineering Department, Alexandria University, Egypt, as a lecturer. From August 2012 to August 2013 I was an assistant professor in the Alexandria University before I moved to University of Business and Technology, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

I have research interests are in the areas of electromagnetics and wave propagation, mobile communications, and hardware design in a nanoscale such as nano-sensors and nano-antennas.

I have 13 years of teaching experience. From 2002-2008 I have taught solid state physics, fiber optics, solid state electronics, modern physics, electrical measurements and antenna systems courses. In 2008, I have taught semiconductor course in the University of Bridgeport. At the University of Business and Technology in KSA I taught introduction to communications, communication theory, antenna and wave propagation, microwave and optical devices, electronics II, communication systems, microprocessor and microcontroller, digital design II and satellite communication. Also I have supervised many senior projects for electrical and computer engineering students.

As an adjunct professor in Arab Maritime Academy and Faros University in Alexandria Egypt, I developed and introduced many new undergraduate/graduate courses. I published 39 papers in quality international journals and conferences. I am a member of the technical program committees for twenty one international conferences as recognition of my research qualifications. I am serving as a guest editor for ten International Journals.

I was responsible for setup new labs in the University of Business and Technology such as digital electronics lab, fiber optics lab, wireless communication lab, antenna lab, and microwave lab.

I am a principle investigator for some research proposals in the nano-sensors, wireless sensor networks, enhancing the performance of and solar cells, and work as a Co-PI for others such as enhancing the biosensors for medical applications, and improving the performance of acoustical sensors in the highways. Also I received Dr. Abdullah Dahlan Award as the best researcher in the University of Business and Technology for academic year 2014/2015 ($ 5,000)
